Position Name: DEAN–ACADEMICS

SGT University is in search of a seasoned professional to work as a Deputy Dean—Academics for its campus near Delhi. The University (a Health science University), in its campus spread over 70 acres near Gurgaon, offers courses in Health Sciences, such as Medicine, Dental Sciences, Pharmacy, Nursing, and also in Agricultural Sciences, Engineering, Hotel Management, Business Management, Arts and Science. The campus is located less than 5 km from the Delhi border of Daurala and offers convenient access to Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi.

Job Description:

• Creation of world-class programmes in all existing departments
• Identifying potential for adding new departments and courses and creating world-class programmes in them
• Ensuring overall control of the quality of all programmes through rigorous mission-driven processes
• Working closely with the concerned departments for the obtaining national and international accreditations
• Coordinating with the training-wing of the university to ensure that faculty members are kept abreast of the latest pedagogical methods
• Designing and implementing mission-related performance appraisal system for teaching faculty and plan their improvement in teaching and research activities
• Designing and implementing mission-driven course-feedback system for the students to ensure improvement of course design, content, delivery and evaluation methods
• Designing suitable learning-assessment systems for all departments and implementing them for achieving improvement of courses through a conscious quality-improvement process
• Co-ordinating with the infotech department to implement optimum usage of information technology to infuse efficiency in the academic structure/systems of the University
• Arranging trainings of the support-staff to improve their efficiency and achieve effectiveness in their work
• Achieving highest quality & quantity of academic research in all departments through a system of encouragement of research output
• Coordinating and conducting workshops, seminars and conferences for research in coordination with the research wing of the university

Expected Candidature & Skills

The University is poised to acquire national and international milestones for its programmes and hence the academic & research quality is pivotal in its overall strategy for future. Suitable candidate should be an enthusiastic and dynamic personality, self-motivated and willing to learn new things. He/she should have a minimum of 15-20 years’ relevant experience of working in the academic institutions. relevant experience in the capacity as a Professor and Head of a Department is a must.
