Rare Beauty donates 1% of all Rare Beauty sales to the Rare Impact Fund, which also raises additional support from foundations, corporate partners, individual donors, and the broader community.

POSITION SUMMARY

The Assistant Manager, Social Impact supports the execution and operations of Rare Impact initiatives, community, and partnerships. This role partners cross functionally across Brand, Marketing, PR, Creative, Communications, and Community teams to help integrate social impact meaningfully into key brand moments, campaigns, and community initiatives. The Assistant Manager is a key operational and relationship role on Rare Beauty’s Social Impact team, supporting a wide array of initiatives – from Rare Impact Fund nonprofit partner engagement and mental health programming to brand campaign and marquee events.

The Assistant Manager will support the development and execution of mental health programming, strategic partnerships, campaigns, and events that advance Rare Beauty’s impact goals and strengthen brand affinity. The Assistant Manager will also play a key role in supporting the Rare Impact Fund’s nonprofit partners. This means building and maintaining meaningful relationships with nonprofit partners, supporting fundraising and awareness campaigns, and ensuring the Fund’s work is thoughtfully integrated into Rare Beauty's brand storytelling and community engagement.

This role requires a proactive, highly organized individual with strong project management and relationship-building skills, a collaborative mindset, and a passion for mental health advocacy and culture-driven impact work.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

Program & Initiative Management

  • Lead execution of key impact programs including the Rare Impact College Ambassador Program, mentorship initiatives, and community engagement efforts.
  • Support the development and execution of Rare Impact programming, campaigns, partnerships, and community initiatives aligned with Rare Beauty’s mission and impact priorities.
  • Collaborate across teams to integrate social impact into product launches, cultural moments, and brand storytelling initiatives.

Partner Support & Engagement

  • Drive ongoing communication and engagement with Rare Impact Fund grantee partners through regular check-ins, relationship management support, and reporting support.
  • Serve as a liaison across nonprofit organizations, strategic advisors, and external stakeholders to support collaboration and partnership engagement.
  • Manage coordination of communications and relationship management with mental health experts, nonprofit leaders, and community partners.

Event & Experiential Support

  • Support planning and execution of social impact events including but not limited to: community activations, Rare Chats, workshops, partner convenings, and brand moments.
  • Own logistics related to vendors, timelines, product ordering, shipping coordination, guest communications, and onsite execution support.
  • Develop and maintain run-of-show documents, briefing materials, and event coordination workflows.

Mental Health Content Development

  • Collaborate with the Social & Community team on monthly mental health content featuring Rare Impact Fund nonprofit partners.
  • Support the development of mental health campaign messaging, resource organization, and briefing materials.
  • Partner with internal teams to ensure social impact content and messaging are culturally relevant, mission-aligned, and strategically integrated across channels.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner closely with internal teams including the Rare Impact Fund, Brand, Social, PR, Influencer, and Creative to support alignment and execution of Rare Impact initiatives.
  • Participate in cross-functional planning meetings and support management of workflows, approvals, and project timelines.

Operations & Administrative Management

  • Manage the Rare Impact inbox and support responses to partner and community inquiries as well as non-profit communications.
  • Draft correspondence, presentations, recap decks, and materials for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Maintain project trackers, team meeting agendas, timelines, shared drives, and team documentation.
  • Coordinate leadership meetings, speaking engagements, and external opportunities involving the Social Impact team.
  • Identify and implement opportunities to improve operational efficiency across team workflows
  • Provide scheduling and logistical support to the Chief Impact Officer as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • 3-5 years of experience in social impact, nonprofit partnerships, corporate responsibility, communications, brand marketing, or related mission-driven work
  • Strong project management and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and maintain a high-level of accuracy and follow-through
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills – able to adapt tone and style across audiences, from community partners to executive leadership
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across cross-functional teams and external stakeholders
  • Strong relationship management with an attention to detail, critical thinking, and follow-through
  • Experience supporting partnerships, campaigns, events, and community initiatives within a brand or nonprofit environment preferred
  • Ability to work both strategically and operationally in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Google Suite, Canva, and presentation tools
  • Passion for mental health advocacy, storytelling, and social impact
