2nd VP, Accounting & Financial Reporting – New York, NY (Hybrid)

A global leader in insurance and financial services is seeking an experienced and strategic accounting executive to join its Life Reinsurance division as 2nd VP, Accounting & Financial Reporting. This is a highly visible leadership opportunity within a sophisticated international organization, offering executive-level exposure, team leadership responsibility, and involvement in complex accounting and financial reporting initiatives across IFRS and Statutory reporting environments.

This role will report directly to the VP of Finance and partner closely with senior leadership, including the CFO

Location & Compensation:

• Hybrid schedule: 3 days onsite

• New York City

• Base salary: $220K–$270K + 20% bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead and oversee all accounting and financial reporting functions for IFRS and Statutory reporting bases

• Manage reinsurance/technical accounting activities including premiums, claims, reserves, and treaty accounting

• Oversee non-technical accounting areas including investments, pensions, leases, and intercompany accounting

• Ensure timely and accurate quarterly and annual financial reporting deliverables

• Drive process improvements, internal controls, and best practices across accounting operations and reporting workflows

• Partner with front-office teams on complex reinsurance transactions and new deal structures

• Serve as a key liaison with internal and external auditors

• Deliver executive-level reporting and presentations to Board, Audit Committee, and Investment Committee stakeholders

• Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing accounting and financial reporting organization across New York and Atlanta

Ideal Background:

• Strong reinsurance accounting experience, ideally within life insurance/reinsurance

• CPA required

• Public accounting foundation strongly preferred (Big 4 highly desirable)

• Deep IFRS and Statutory reporting expertise

• Proven leadership experience managing and developing teams

• Executive presence with the ability to influence and partner with senior stakeholders globally

• Strong technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal controls experience
