Description

We are seeking a Vice President of Accounting with responsibility for the company’s monthly financial reporting (both internally and externally), technical accounting research including IFRS, among other tasks / responsibilities. This role will report directly to the CFO.

Summary of Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare monthly and quarterly financial statements, including all necessary consolidated P&L, cash flows, and intercompany reconciliations
  • Manage and implement technical accounting and tax pronouncements and stay current and adopt all new technical accounting pronouncements
  • Ability to optimize and automate accounting processes to drive a faster monthly/quarterly close cycle
  • Manage cash flow, including monitoring and forecasting cash needs, optimizing investment strategies, and overseeing accounts payable and accounts receivable processes
  • Contribute to the increased overall quality and speed of delivery of accounting work product
  • Perform acquisition & consolidation accounting, including support for purchase price allocation and opening balance sheets analysis
  • Responsible for the annual audit preparation and execution
  • Ensure timely reporting of and remain compliant with all federal, state, and local tax authorities
  • Develop and implement accounting policies and procedures as required with a focus on driving efficiencies through effective and efficient use of our accounting systems
  • Partner with the analytics and FP&A team to ensure timeliness and accuracy of financial and management reporting
  • Provide financial statements to internal customers on a monthly basis, compliance documents to banks on a monthly basis, quarterly financial statements to the board of directors on a quarterly basis, and external auditors on an annual basis
  • Provide support on technical accounting expertise - Perform accounting research and draft accounting position and policy papers as needed to ensure adherence to IFRS
  • Assume primary responsibility for share-based payments and Lease accounting (IFRS 2 & IFRS 16)
  • Take an active role in developing global business processes and metrics
  • Documentation and maintenance of all internal accounting policies & procedures

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Accounting
  • CPA license required (active)
  • 4+ years of Big 4 experience
  • Strong technical and analytical skills including knowledge of IFRS
  • Strong Excel skills (pivot tables, complex formulas, lookups)
  • Excellent technical accounting skills
  • Advanced working knowledge of NetSuite (or similar ERP)
  • Experience with Planful or similar tools is highly desirable
  • Must be able to work quickly, and accurately, and be detail-oriented and organized
  • Solid interpersonal communication skills in English (both written and oral)
  • Experience in developing processes and metrics for business support
  • Self-motivated, high energy, problem solver, and the ability to learn and introduce new concepts
  • Experience leading an accounting team, preferably in a global environment
  • Be a team player and comfortable working in a collaborative team environment - must be able to work with operations, development, and sales groups.
