Transaction Banking

  • Formulate and obtain approval for business plans and KPIs, and strategise to develop the Islamic Transaction Banking business of CIMB Group.
  • Conduct periodic and annual performance review and determine performance rating and make a recommendation for compensation for all direct reports regionally in consultation with the respective Country Heads of Transaction Banking and Country Heads of Islamic banking where relevant as set out in the organisation chart (as updated periodically).
  • Develop the Islamic Transaction Banking business either through CIMB Group direction on sharing / utilising of current infrastructure and operations (also known as CIMB Group DBLM) or any other manner that is deemed suitable and required for the business.
  • Identify key objectives, financials, and other performance measures for Islamic Transaction Banking business of CIMB Group.
  • Identify, allocate and organise resource requirements, including people requirements for Islamic Transaction Banking business
  • Drive and contribute to the developments of Islamic Transaction Banking market landscape, as well as capitalise on opportunities and mitigate threats.
  • Engage with the Country Heads of Transaction Banking and Country Heads of Islamic banking to foster a close relationship with local regulatory authorities or other authorities.
  • Assist CEO of GIB / CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad towards achieving the overall CIMB Group objectives.
  • Collaborate jointly with all Regional and Country Heads of Group Transaction Banking to drive P&L growth and customer portfolio to meet the strategic objectives for CIMB Group in reference to Islamic Transaction Banking business.
  • Drive an innovative approach to product development to support the Market Leader aspiration.
  • Fulfill any other roles, responsibilities and accountabilities as assigned by the CEO of Group Islamic Banking/ CIMB Islamic Bank Berhad.

Responsible Officer

  • Implement the Company’s strategy and in carrying out the Board’s directions, managing the business of the Company and driving performance within the strategic goals and objectives
  • To ensure sufficient reporting of financial information, material issues affecting the entity/investment, its parent or the Group and incidents or potential regulatory non-compliance
  • To ensure all relevant enabler functions are filled, failing which, such functions must be leveraged on Group and issues are reported
  • To report any illegal or unethical activities or practices discovered to the Senior Independent Director of the Group or as per the Group Whistleblowing Policy, where relevant
  • To report to the Group Company Secretary any change in the status of an entity/investment
