About The Job

As an Engineering Manager at Telavox, you’ll play a key role in leading and evolving one of our engineering teams. You’ll be responsible for developing individuals, strengthening team performance, and aligning engineering efforts with business goals, while fostering a culture of collaboration, innovation, continuous improvement, and fun!

You’ll work closely with engineers, product managers, and other stakeholders to bring ideas to life. You’ll contribute to technical discussions, support architectural decisions, and ensure your team delivers value to customers in a scalable and sustainable way.

Your Day-to-day Work Will Include

• Coaching and mentoring team members to support their growth, performance, and well-being
• Creating a safe, inclusive, and collaborative team environment where people can do their best work
• Establishing the right level of process for where your team is, adding structure where it’s missing, and removing it where it’s not needed
• Setting clear expectations on software quality, reliability, and operational health, so the team owns what it ships
• Creating clarity when priorities shift, translating ambiguity from the business into a clear plan your team can execute against
• Partnering with Product to align on priorities, roadmaps, and outcomes
• Contributing to hiring and building strong, diverse engineering teams
• Collaborating with other Engineering Managers and leaders to shape the broader engineering strategy and culture

About You

You’re the kind of leader who is comfortable when things aren’t fully figured out. You can take an ambiguous situation or a shifting roadmap and turn it into something coherent - not by waiting for stability, but by building enough of it yourself. At the same time, you take software seriously: you’ve worked on systems where reliability, quality, and long-term maintainability mattered, and you bring that operational mindset to how your team works.

You may come from a Senior or Lead Engineer background, and while your strength is enabling others, you stay close enough to the technology to make sound calls on architecture, quality, and trade-offs.

Key Skills And Experience We’re Looking For

• Proven experience leading engineering teams (as EM, Tech Lead, or similar), including through periods of change, growth, or reorganisation
• A track record of building structures that help a team move faster: establishing the right rituals, decision-making, and ways of working
• Experience operating production software where reliability, quality, and long-term maintainability mattered, and a mindset shaped by it
• Excellent people leadership skills, including coaching, mentoring, and supporting a diverse set of individuals
• Comfortable working with ambiguity and translating it into a clear direction for your team
• Ability to align engineering work with product and business priorities, and to push back constructively when needed
• Passion for creating a healthy, inclusive team culture where the team consistently does its best work

Good-to-have Skills

• Experience working in a SaaS or B2B environment
• Experience working with telephony-related technologies, SIP, RTP, etc.
• Familiarity with modern cloud architecture, event-driven systems, and DevOps practices
• Interest in using AI tooling to improve how engineering teams work
