The role

This role is a fixed-term position.

As part of our ambitious growth strategy, we are seeking a skilled Data Lead for METSA market to play a key role in our transformation journey. This position is central to our OPUS IT Landscape, including SAP S/4HANA implementation and the overall carve-out from Unilever, where we are harmonizing business processes and data on a global scale. In this critical role, you will collaborate closely with global and local cross-functional teams to lead data migration activities and deployment of master data management and governance, ensuring a seamless transition to the new systems and ways of working. Your expertise will help guarantee data accuracy, consistency, integrity, and alignment with business objectives, laying the foundation for operational excellence in our future state.

What You'll Be Responsible For

  • Act as the market single point of contact for all data-related (in this document data-related is used as a term to only encompass Data Migration and MDM) deployment activities.
  • Own the market-specific Data Object Scope, ensuring clarity and accountability throughout the migration process – making sure the local data owners have been assigned per object.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams (business, IT, external vendors) to execute end-to-end data migration activities, including scope definition, transformation, enrichment, and cleansing. Accountable for full documentation of local specifics for data transformation.
  • Lead the local data cleansing and enrichment effort – coordinating with relevant local functional SMEs to review and correct records for migration specifications.
  • Identify and resolve data quality issues, such as duplicates, incomplete records, or incorrect mappings, escalating issues to global / wave data teams.
  • Lead the mapping of local master data to the global data model, ensuring alignment with process design decisions.
  • Ensure local MDM process-relevant roles have been allocated and trained prior to go-live.
  • Participate in mock loads, migration testing, and cutover rehearsals – making sure data is validated and signed off by the respective local data owners.
  • Analyze defects identified during testing and cutover phases, translating them into actionable improvements (e.g., updated transformation rules, selection criteria, enrichment steps).
  • Provide on-site hypercare support for data-related incidents.
  • Proactively identify and mitigate risks related to data.
  • Provide regular reporting and status updates to stakeholders, fostering transparency and collaboration across all phases of the project.

Experience & Expertise

We're looking for someone who

  • Deep understanding of in-market master data structures, usage, and ownership across functions.
  • Proven experience in data cleansing and data migration activities, ideally in the context of SAP S/4HANA implementations (ECC to S/4), preferably within the CPG industry.
  • Solid understanding of master data structures and processes.

Technical Skills

  • Familiarity with data profiling, data quality techniques, and ETL tools such as SAP Data Services.
  • Practical experience with Python for data-related tasks.
  • Knowledge of data cataloging, cleansing, migration tools, and metadata management principles.
  • Deep understanding of in-market master data structures, usage, and ownership across functions.
  • Familiarity with current local data governance processes and systems. Knowledge of regulatory, data privacy and compliance requirements relevant to the market.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams, SharePoint) to support communication, collaboration, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.

Soft Skills & Mindset

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage diverse stakeholders across business and technical functions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, detail-oriented, and capable of translating business requirements into practical data solutions.
  • Proven ability to drive change and innovation, embracing an agile and growth mindset.
  • Highly result-oriented, proactive, and adaptable, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Other

  • Fluent in English (written and verbal), able to articulate complex ideas clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to travel to support market-specific requirements during design, build, and deployment phases.

Alongside meaningful work and strong development, we offer a reward package that typically includes
