  • Uphold Jaeckle Core values and ensure all personnel adhere to company core values, operational standards, and compliance requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with customer service, warehouse staff, and other departments (sales, purchasing, transportation) using various methods (in-person, telephone, email, software tools) to ensure smooth workflow.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for all customer-facing freight coordination for Jaeckle Distributors.
  • Work with Operations stakeholders including Freight and Logistics Manager, Warehouse Managers, Supervisors, Receiving Personnel, Customer Service, and Procurement to achieve daily goals.
  • Provide outbound logistics support for the Madison location and satellite locations as needed or as opportunities arise.
  • Assist in proactively resolving challenges, delivery issues, delays, and other logistics-related issues.
  • Provide feedback to Freight & Logistics Manager regarding utilization level, cost, and effectiveness of Jaeckle trucks, partner freight, and other freight vendors.
  • Records and communicates instances of delivery issues by Jaeckle or other logistics companies and monitor known issues for addressable trends.
  • Execute and confirm special and expedited orders, ensuring rapid processing, accurate documentation, and clear communication with internal teams regarding urgent shipments.
  • Provide and document freight quotes, tracking information, Jaeckle and freight partner communications, and customer follow-up for potential and completed shipments, deliveries, and occasional returns and pick-ups.
  • Create, monitor, and update daily truck driver routes using company provided software, the company delivery schedule, and driver feedback to create an accomplish-able daily run.
  • Create, file, and send electronic data interchange (EDI) files to freight partners using company standard operating procedures (SOPs) and the company delivery schedule.
  • Generate bills of lading (BOLs) and packing lists from company provided software for Jaeckle deliveries, freight partner deliveries, and all other deliveries.
  • Create and book full truckload (FTL), less-than-truckload (LTL), and other shipments using company provided software, company SOPs, and best practices from experienced staff members to achieve cost-efficient, responsive deliveries.
  • Receive, electronically store, organize, and manage all proof of delivery documents and requests while identifying possible process improvements.
  • Coordinate, monitor, and assist with all customer returns, confirming readiness for pick-up, alerting Receiving / Inventory personnel of the inbound return, and providing details to warehouse personnel to assist with any related vendor returns.
  • Communicate, assess, coordinate solutions, submit, and close out freight issues and claims on behalf of Jaeckle and its customers while keeping the freight issues and claims log up to date.
  • Serve as a resource for supporting other elements of the warehouse freight and logistics functions including but not limited to truck route input, delivery schedule adjustments, staging, and picking management.
  • Other periodic duties as assigned by management including providing temporary coverage for other employees as needed.

Requirements

  • Superior attention to detail with a strong focus on confirmation of details and ability to thoroughly document communications.
  • Excellent communication skills speaking, listening, and professional writing with a proactive mindset to communication.
  • Proficient understanding of warehouse operations including receiving, inventory management, order fulfillment, picking, packing, shipping, and returns processing.
  • Ability to follow, understand, and improve SOPs dealing with repetitive tasks and repeatedly used software.
  • Proficient in basic mathematics, adding, subtracting, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Proficient in usage of computer software and tools including but not limited to email, Microsoft Office products, and warehouse management systems (WMS).
  • Ability to identify variances in data and physical shipments and see resolution through to completion.

Excellent organizational skills with an ability to prioritize time sensitive tasks.

  • Minimum of 3 years’ experience in warehouse, distribution, or manufacturing logistics
  • High School Graduate or equivalent, higher education in supply chain is a plus
  • Current Driver’s License
  • Military experience a plus
