THE OPPORTUNITY

About the Role

NetStandard is looking for a seasoned vCIO to join our Managed Services practice. This is a senior, dual-track role: you'll serve as the strategic IT leader for 30+ SMB clients while directly managing a team of engineers responsible for day-to-day service delivery.

You'll own three things — client IT strategy, account retention, and project and hardware sales. To support you, you'll have access to a shared resource pool including a 24×7 Helpdesk, project management, procurement specialist, and technical specialists.

RESPONSIBILITIES

What You'll Own

• Lead IT strategy and multi-year technology roadmaps for assigned clients, delivering executive-ready QBRs that connect technology investment to business outcomes

• Directly manage a technical team — performance, development, prioritization, and escalation ownership

• Own client relationships end-to-end: onboarding through renewal, account health monitoring, and proactive churn prevention

• Drive project and hardware sales through consultative scoping, proposal development, and quarterly business reviews

• Oversee ITSM-aligned service delivery incident management, problem management, and change control

• Collaborate cross-functionally with Engineering, Sales, Accounting, and Purchasing to deliver cohesive client outcomes

• Identify and champion new technologies and process improvements that add value to clients and NetStandard

QUALIFICATIONS

What We're Looking ForUIRED

PREFERRED

• Bachelor's degree in MIS, CS, Business, or equivalent experience

• 5–7 years in MSP, IT leadership, or technology consulting

• Proven C-suite communication and executive presentation skills

• Direct people management experience with technical staff

• Knowledge of ITSM/ITIL frameworks applied to managed services

• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and associated licensing

• Experience with a PSA tool (HaloPSA, ConnectWise, Autotask)

• Background owning IT budgets and technology roadmaps

• Familiarity with RMM platforms (NinjaOne, Datto, Connectwise)

• Experience with IT documentation platforms (IT Glue, Hudu)

• Relevant certifications: ITIL, MS-900, AZ-900, CompTIA
