Overall Purpose of the Job
The Field Service Technician III, Level 2 is responsible for assisting with Casing/Tubing operations involving various types / sizes of tubulars and utilizing varying types / sizes of the company equipment while under instruction and supervision of the allocated Field Supervisor(s).
The position holder shall work under direct supervision until proven competent in the tasks and/or disciplines being undertaken.
The Field Service Technician III, Level 2 is required to demonstrate competence in all relevant disciplines described in the Local Field Career Development Competence Map.
Key Activities And Accountabilities
- Complete and forward relevant paper or electronic reports, e.g. Observation Cards, incident reports, Equipment Fault Reports, etc. to the appropriate department
- Keep up to date with all new developments in the company equipment and operational requirements as instructed
- Ensure all required operational documentation is completed in an accurate and timely manner and forwarded to Operations Office for processing
- Professionally represent the company at client meetings when requested
- Assist onshore/workshop operations in any company location as required (covered by basic salary)
- Meet all operational deadlines/schedules as required, including: Pre/post-job meetings, check-ins, flights/travel obligations, safety meetings, toolbox talks and shift configurations
- Actively participate in all learning and development programs, which may include travel, as and when required
- Implement quality, health and safety policies and procedures during all operational activities
- Suggest changes/improvements relevant to those procedures
- Actively seek ways to eliminate unsafe practices, conditions and damage to people, processes, equipment, property and the environment
- Ensure their work area(s) are kept clean and free from obstructions
- Actively participate in worksite safety programs as required
- Participate in job debrief, pre-departure, incident investigation meetings and training as and when required
- Responsible for their own health and safety and for anyone else who could be affected by their work, never attempting to undertake any task without adequate supervision
- Promptly reporting any unsafe/unsatisfactory plant and/or systems of work, or those not being operated to company standards or QHSE procedures
- Inspire, support, and reassure Field Service Technician 1 and 2 in carrying out their delegated duties
- Fulfill any additional tasks and duties that can be assigned by the Line Manager/Supervisor
Job Knowledge And Qualifications
- Previous Oil & Gas field experience or a Mechanical / Electrical background
- Strong commitment to safety, operational discipline, and teamwork
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to meet client and operational expectations
