Biomedical Science / Biomedical Engineering Internship (Vocational Placement) – 2026 Intake

Location: Across Australia (Sydney & Melbourne)

Duration: 3 Month Placement (252–420 hours)

Start Date: May - July 2026

Premium Graduate Placements (PGP) partners with Australian organisations in healthcare, research, and medical technology to provide industry-based vocational placements for students and recent graduates in Biomedical Science and Biomedical Engineering.

This program is designed to provide practical exposure to laboratory, research, and healthcare technology environments, helping bridge the gap between academic study and professional practice.

About the Role

As a Biomedical Intern, you will support research, laboratory, or technical teams depending on your placement. You will gain hands-on experience in real-world biomedical settings, including healthcare, diagnostics, or medical device environments.

Key Responsibilities

Depending on placement focus, responsibilities may include:

• Assisting with laboratory testing, sample preparation, and data collection
• Supporting research projects, experiments, and documentation
• Assisting with medical device testing, validation, or quality checks
• Maintaining accurate records and following laboratory protocols
• Supporting data analysis and reporting
• Ensuring compliance with safety, ethical, and regulatory standards

Requirements

• Currently studying or recently graduated in Biomedical Science, Biomedical Engineering, or related disciplines
• Basic understanding of laboratory procedures or biomedical systems
• Strong attention to detail and analytical thinking
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Willingness to learn in a structured, professional environment
• Availability for at least 3 days per week
