Job Description:
- Conduct joint research with the Product Safety and International Regulatory & Compliance teams, and ensure effective coordination with suppliers
- Develop product category based audit checklists, and conduct regular follow up and update of the checklists
- Collaborate with the Sourcing Category Manager to prepare RFQs (including technical requirements)
- Lead the technical evaluation work when there is new supplier development needs
- Align with the Quality team on all testing details, including testing venue, perceived quality and field tests
- Jointly formulate project plans with relevant stakeholders. Oversee all project work excluding commercial matters, with the core objective of launching new projects on schedule with optimal quality
- Sign NDAs with all suppliers
- Follow up on the design implementation process when design rollout is required
- Provide complete technical data, including critical component lists, supplier test reports, REACH, RoHS, EMC, CB certificates and other relevant documents
- Track the progress of testing sample preparation and delivery
In case of any failure during design validation, promptly notify the supplier and follow up on improvement measures; take primary responsibility for driving suppliers to implement improvements
- Conduct joint risk analysis with the Quality team and obtain official approval if suppliers fail to carry out required improvements; be responsible for securing product approval
- Organize approval review meetings and prepare all necessary supporting documents in advance
- Follow up on the closure and implementation of CARs under conditional approval
- Coordinate artwork-related work with suppliers and local project managers
- Provide technical support to the local certification responsible person - during the local product certification process
- Conduct joint evaluation of trial production results with the Quality team upon completion of trial production, and issue product approval accordingly
- Track the implementation of engineering change notices (ECNs) for existing products
- Follow up with suppliers on product improvement measures required due to regulatory updates and changes
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering is a must
- Minimum 5 years of solid experience in the refrigerator industry, with sourcing experience preferred
- R&D or Quality working background required
- Capability to conduct machine benchmarking, identifying strengths, weaknesses, cost advantages and disadvantages
- Experience in leading export projects is a plus
- Proficient in English (listening, speaking, reading, writing)
- Ability to work under pressure and with strong team spirit.
