SEMH Teacher

Relocation – Bahrain

Role Overview

We are seeking a passionate and experienced SEMH Teacher to lead a small class of approximately 8 students with diverse learning needs. The ideal candidate will design and implement individualised education plans (EPs), foster a supportive learning environment, and equip students with the skills they need to thrive academically, socially, and in their future endeavours.

Key Responsibilities

Develop and implement individualised learning plans tailored to students’ strengths, needs, and goals.
Deliver instruction in functional academics, social-emotional skills, and life skills using research-based practices.
Collaborate with instructional assistants and specialists le.g., occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, behaviour therapists. Monitor and assess student progress regularly, adjusting strategies as needed.
Facilitate school-to-community transition planning for students.
Integrate visual aids, hands-on activities, and explicit teaching methods to enhance learning.
Foster opportunities for students to integrate into mainstream classes where appropriate.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s in Special Education or related field (Master’s preferred).
Valid teaching certification/license/equivalency with 3+ years teaching
Experience working with students with diverse learning needs, including cognitive and executive functioning challenges.
Strong understanding of IEP development, functional academics, and transition planning. Exceptional communication, collaboration, and organisational skills.
Arabic language is desirable
