Software Engineer – Exchange Connectivity & Market Data

The Role:

As a Nine Mile Software Engineer – Exchange Connectivity & Market Data, you will work at the core of our trading systems. Responsibilities include:

• Build and maintain low-latency connections to global trading venues covering both order gateways and market data feeds
• Manage and coordinate connectivity with a variety of FIX brokers, managing projects from inception to delivery
• Manage exchange upgrade and onboarding projects
• Monitor and analyse exchange-facing and market data components, suggesting and implementing optimisations for best trading outcomes
• Work flexibly across real-time production issues and longer-term infrastructure projects
• Performance tuning across both market data and order routing systems, maximising throughput and minimising latency

What you will bring:

• Development experience in either Java or C++
• A scripting language, preferably Python
• Experience working in a High Frequency Trading or low-latency trading environment
• Experience working across both Windows and Linux environments
• Strong understanding of network protocols and market data distribution
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Genuine interest in financial markets
• Strong academic background in Computer Science or related field
• Exposure to some or all of: ITCH, OUCH, FLEX, Arrowhead, JGATE, OMNET, FIX
