Software Application Developer

Jeppesen ForeFlight is looking for a motivated software engineer to join our development team. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining our backend systems used to support our customers.

At Jeppesen’s office in central Gothenburg you will work in a one-of-a-kind software development organization with solutions that make a real difference to people around the world. You will be working in an agile learning organization, surrounded by a team of talented, creative and dedicated colleagues. You will learn and broaden your perspective by working with 400 professionals from more than 50 different nations, but also be part of a global organization allowing for collaboration with customers and colleagues across the world. Software Application Developer – Communicative Hacker Wanted!

Are you someone who finds joy in working with computers, enjoys solving problems creatively, and thrives in a collaborative environment? We are looking for a communicative hacker — a developer who not only has solid foundational knowledge but also a genuine curiosity and eagerness to learn more.

About The Role

You will be part of a dynamic team focused primarily on backend development, working with modern technologies such as containers, Kubernetes, Java, Python, Unix, and CI/CD pipelines. While prior experience in these areas is a plus, what matters most is your confidence in your fundamentals and your willingness to tackle new challenges head-on. You should be comfortable asking questions and collaborating with teammates to grow your skills and contribute effectively.

What We’re Looking For

• A passion for working with computers and software development
• Basic to intermediate knowledge in backend technologies (Java, Python, Unix)
• Familiarity or interest in containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes
• Experience or willingness to learn about pipelines and automation
• Confidence in your ability to learn new technologies and solve problems independently
• Strong communication skills and a team-oriented mindset
• Ability to ask for help and share knowledge with others

Bonus

• Experience teaching or sharing new skills with the team is a plus, but not required.
