Head of Marketing, China

As the Head of Marketing, you will serve as the primary growth engine and strategic architect for Sonova’s Hearing Instruments business in China. You will lead the transformation from a product-centric model to a consumer-centric, full-funnel growth system.

You will operationalize the new “Center of Excellence (CoE) + Frontline” architecture: leveraging centralized expertise to build scalable assets and predictive insights, while empowering frontline teams to execute with agility. Beyond driving local revenue, you will act as a global innovation hub, translating global strategy into local winning campaigns and reverse-engineering China’s digital best practices to influence the global organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Architect a 3-5 year growth plan, leveraging the strategy module to identify white-space opportunities. Drive performance through rigorous, ROI-focused governance.
  • Brand & Portfolio Strategy: Lead campaigns that reposition hearing aids from medical devices to premium lifestyle essentials. Direct product managers to define value propositions tailored to China’s reimbursement policies and consumer tiers.
  • Ecosystem Enablement: Develop scalable Marketing Toolkits and Joint Business Plans (JBPs) to empower distributors and retail partners. Ensure brand message consistency across the vast Chinese market.
  • Content & Digital Precision: Lead the Content Lab to produce culturally resonant, high-impact storytelling for WeChat, Douyin, Little Red Book, etc. Oversee Media Operations to shift spend towards precision digital targeting.
  • Full-Funnel Architecture: Design a robust engine where the Leads generation CoE captures potential customers at all stages. Implement strategies to feed high-quality leads to both Direct Retail Stores and Dealer Networks.
  • Data & Business Intelligence: Shift from retrospective reporting to predictive modeling. Utilize data to forecast trends, optimize media mix, and identify high-value segments before competitors.

Who You Are:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, or a related field. An MBA from a top-tier institution is highly preferred.
  • Experience: 15+ years of progressive marketing experience, with 6+ years in senior leadership managing multi-functional teams. Proven track record in Medical Devices, Consumer Healthcare, or Premium Consumer Electronics.
  • Expertise: Deep expertise in China’s digital ecosystem (WeChat, Douyin, O2O models) and retail/dealer dynamics. Demonstrated success in building "CoE + Frontline" models or matrix organizations.
  • Skills: Mastery of brand building, digital marketing technologies, CRM analytics, and market research tools. Strong financial literacy (budgeting, forecasting, P&L management).
  • Languages: Native Mandarin and fluent English (written and verbal).
