Job Description / Responsibility

  • Support patient diagnosis and treatment by installing, testing, calibrating, maintaining, and repairing biomedical equipment to ensure continuous and safe operation.
  • Oversee the installation, commissioning, and performance testing of new medical equipment.
  • Approve new equipment by conducting technical evaluation, testing, compliance verification, and necessary modifications in accordance with hospital standards and regulatory codes.
  • Maintain all biomedical equipment through preventive maintenance schedules, routine inspections, troubleshooting, and corrective repair activities.
  • Coordinate with vendors and service providers for specialized servicing, annual maintenance contracts (AMC), warranty claims, and equipment upgrades.
  • Evaluate and manage service contracts, ensuring cost-effectiveness and service quality.
  • Conduct equipment demonstrations and user training sessions for doctors, nurses, OT staff, and healthcare personnel on proper operation and safe handling.
  • Evaluate proposed medical devices and systems by conducting technical feasibility tests, comparative analysis, and performance evaluations before procurement.
  • Improve equipment performance by analyzing machine-patient interaction, collecting user feedback, and coordinating with manufacturers for technical modifications or upgrades.
  • Maintain equipment inventory and spare parts stock, anticipate future requirements, place requisitions, and verify receipt of supplies.
  • Prepare and submit biomedical reports, maintenance logs, calibration certificates, downtime reports, and performance summaries for management review.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety standards, regulatory requirements, and hospital SOPs through regular safety checks and risk assessments.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and protect sensitive data related to medical equipment usage.
  • Collaborate with hospital management, clinicians, vendors, and technical teams to enhance operational efficiency and patient care quality.
  • Support emergency response by ensuring critical care equipment (ICU, OT, NICU, Eye OT, diagnostic units) remain fully functional at all times.

Educational Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science (BSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Master of Science (MSc) in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Diploma in Electronics in Electrical & Electronic Engineering
  • Candidates with relevant certifications in medical equipment maintenance, calibration, or hospital engineering will be given preference.
  • Skills Required: Electrical/ Electronics, Health/ Medical, Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology, Medical Equipment, Electrical Installation and Maintenance

Experience Requirements

  • 3 to 7 year(s)
  • The applicants should have experience in the following business area(s):
  • Hospital,Physiotherapy center,Diagnostic Centre,Clinic

Additional Requirements

  • Strong knowledge of medical equipment calibration, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting.
  • Experience in handling diagnostic, ICU, NICU, OT, ophthalmic, and laboratory equipment.
  • Familiarity with service contract management.
  • Good report writing and documentation skills.
  • Ability to coordinate with vendors and manufacturers.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and maintenance reporting systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to respond to urgent technical issues beyond regular office hours.
