What The Role Is

The Deputy Director will play a key role in advancing Singapore’s space ecosystem by driving industry development strategies and expanding the adoption of space-enabled technologies across key sectors. Working at the intersection of national strategy, industry development, and market creation, the role will engage industry leaders, research institutions, and government partners to strengthen Singapore’s position as a global hub for space innovation and applications.

What You Will Be Working On

Industry Strategy

  • Lead the development and implementation of long-term strategies for Singapore’s space industry and space-enabled markets.
  • Conduct market intelligence and ecosystem analysis across the global space value chain to identify growth sectors and strategic opportunities. Industry & Market Development
  • Develop programmes that attracts and grows the presence of space companies (both local and foreign) to enhance Singapore space industry’s linkages to the global space value chain
  • Develop programmes that connect space companies with end-user industries to strengthen commercial ecosystems and accelerate the adoption of space-enabled technologies across sectors such as supply chain, finance, sustainability, commodities
  • Develop programmes that strengthens the export potential of local space companies Stakeholder Engagement
  • Build and maintain strategic partnerships with multinational corporations, startups, venture capital firms, research institutions, and industry partners.
  • Represent the agency in high-level engagements, industry platforms, and international collaborations. Leadership
  • Support broader organisational strategy and cross-agency initiatives related to Singapore’s space ecosystem.
  • Lead and develop a team responsible for industry and market.

What We Are Looking For

  • At least 8 years of relevant experience in strategy, public policy, industry development, business development, consulting, or relevant technology sectors (e.g. space, aerospace, satellite communications).
  • Strong experience in strategic planning, ecosystem building, and market development.
  • Demonstrated ability to engage senior stakeholders and manage complex partnerships across government and industry.
  • Leadership experience, including managing teams and developing talent.
  • Good understanding of space industry dynamics, competitive ecosystems, and value chains is advantageous
  • STEM background or relevant technical experience is advantageous.
