GlobalSource IT is an ERP recruiting firm supporting our client who has a growing SAP Finance landscape and an upcoming S/4HANA migration. The team is looking for a senior-level functional expert who can confidently partner with accounting stakeholders, drive SAP best practices, and serve as the bridge between business and IT.

Summary

This is a highly visible role within the SAP Finance team focused on strengthening FICO expertise, elevating process maturity, and guiding the organization through S/4HANA migration efforts. A background in finance or accounting is strongly preferred, as success in this role depends on the ability to speak the language of the business, understand core accounting principles, and translate complex financial requirements into scalable SAP solutions. The ideal candidate brings deep SAP FICO configuration experience paired with hands-on exposure to financial processes such as close, reconciliation, revenue recognition, and profitability analysis, along with the ability to influence business users, advise on process improvements, and drive adoption of SAP standardization.

This individual will work closely with finance leadership and collaborate with senior functional analysts, developers, and testers, serving as a trusted partner to accounting stakeholders and helping elevate the team’s overall functional maturity. The role plays a key part in ensuring financial processes are aligned to SAP best practices, strengthening end-to-end integration across finance and operational modules, and supporting complex, multi-entity environments while preparing the organization for S/4HANA migration.

Key Responsibilities

• Act as the senior functional SME for SAP FICO across multiple business units

• Partner directly with accounting stakeholders and translate financial terminology into system solutions

• Drive adoption of SAP standard and best practices across finance processes

• Lead design and configuration within SAP FICO, including end to end process ownership

• Serve as a bridge between business users and technical teams

• Provide guidance on how business processes should adapt to align with SAP capabilities

• Support and help lead S/4HANA migration initiatives

• Strengthen finance process maturity and elevate the team’s functional capabilities

• Lead requirements gathering, functional design, and solution delivery

• Support integrations across finance and operational modules

• Provide mentorship and leadership within a senior-level SAP team

• Troubleshoot complex finance process and system issues

Core Functional Expertise Required

• SAP FICO configuration experience in ECC and/or S/4HANA

• Strong accounting knowledge and ability to communicate with finance stakeholders

• General Ledger, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable

• COPA including costing, profitability, margin analytics, and revenue recognition

• Financial close processes including month end and year end

• Intercompany processing

• Internal order settlements

• Deferred revenue

• Financial reporting for internal and external stakeholders

• Reconciliation processes

• End to end integration with FI/SD and FI/MM

• Multi entity finance environments

S/4HANA & Implementation Experience

• Experience supporting an S/4HANA implementation or migration

• Experience driving SAP standard and best practices during implementation

• Full lifecycle SAP FICO implementation experience preferred

Preferred Experience

• SAP BPC for planning and consolidations

• SAP SAC for financial planning and analysis

• SAP Group Reporting for consolidations

• OpenText Vendor Invoice Management and Invoice Core Capture

• BlackLine or similar reconciliation tools

• Interface and integration experience

• Accounting degree or significant accounting business experience
