Job Description

We are looking for a colleague to manage and develop our planning platform in Denmark (Falck Global Assistance), where we work with WorkForce Planning applications such as SP-Expert and Plano WFM. You will be part of a cross-functional team responsible for the operation and further development of business-critical applications that drive Falck’s operational business.

As an Application Manager, you will work closely with the business and with colleagues in IT – as well as external vendors and teammates in Denmark, Poland, and India. The role combines application operations, T-SQL and system understanding with dialogue, prioritization and structure.

About The Role

  • Ensure stable operation of our planning solutions (including SP-Expert and Plano WFM) in an environment with many dependencies.
  • Troubleshooting, analysis, and resolution of incidents and problems in collaboration with the business and vendors.
  • Further development and optimization of existing solutions – both in the application and in the database.
  • Work with integrations and data flows between the planning systems and other Falck systems.
  • Break down and estimate tasks from the team’s backlog in an agile setup.
  • Document solutions, flows, and processes (in English) and continuously maintain existing documentation.
  • Maintain a close dialogue with the business about needs, prioritisation, and expectation management.

About You

We do not expect you to master everything from day one, but we imagine you can recognize yourself in most of the following:

  • Experience with operation and development of business-critical applications.
  • Used to working in a vendor setup and with teammates working remotely from different locations (Denmark, Poland, and India).
  • Good understanding of: application performance, integrations and data flows, system architecture and general application operations
  • Strong in T-SQL and curious about new possibilities in SQL Server – e.g. effective use of JOIN, CROSS APPLY, OUTER APPLY and optimization of complex queries.
  • Preferably a background as a software or BI developer with knowledge of Microsoft technologies, e.g.: Visual Studio, .NET Framework and .NET Core, ASP.NET (MVC/Web API) and preferably Blazor or other modern technology
  • Fluent in both, Danish and English.
  • Knowledge of agile planning tools (e.g. Azure Devops) is preferred.

Knowledge of SP-Expert, Plano or other workforce/planning systems is an advantage, but not a requirement – most important is that you have a solid technical foundation and the desire to learn about the domain.

Your personal competencies

We Place Great Emphasis On Your Ability To

  • Take responsibility for “your” business area and act as a link between IT and the business.
  • Be curious about change and translate new needs into concrete tasks and solutions.
  • Work independently, in a structured way, follow up on your tasks, and ensure that agreements are seen through.
  • Communicate clearly and respectfully – both verbally and in writing – and explain technical issues at an understandable level.
  • Thrive in close collaboration with colleagues and vendors and understand that we only succeed as a team.
  • Maintain an overview and calm, even when there is pressure on operations.
