r****About This Role****

The Alan Levin Department of Mechanical and Nuclear Engineering (MNE) is

seeking applicants with an expertise in energy-related research relevant

to mechanical and/or nuclear engineering. Candidates with research

backgrounds in thermal and fluid sciences are of particular interest,

though candidates with a proven record of success in other areas of

mechanical engineering may also be considered. The successful candidate

will be expected to develop a strong, externally funded research program

in energy-related area that complement departmental strengths and

supports the University focus on Energy and delivering secure energy for

Kansas.

The MNE department has 24 faculty member, annual research expenditures

of approximately \$6M, and an enrollment of approximately 850

undergraduate and graduate students. More information on the MNE

The Carl R. Ice College of Engineering is located on the main Kansas

State University campus in Manhattan, Kansas, a vibrant, family-friendly

****Worksite Description****

This position is **On-site**. Position will be on site for teaching

courses

All employees must reside in the United States when they begin working

to comply with state law. K-State is unable to provide remote or hybrid

work opportunities for residents of the state of Idaho.

****What You\'ll Need to Succeed****

Minimum Qualifications

  • PhD in Mechanical Engineering, Nuclear Engineering, or a closely

related field from an accredited institution

  • The degree requirement is necessary for accreditation purposes and to

ensure candidates possess the specialized knowledge, skills, and

abilities that can only be attained through a formal educational program

at this level.*

Preferred Qualifications

  • PhD in mechanical and/or nuclear engineering with research

backgrounds in thermal and fluid sciences

  • Ability to develop strong externally funded research program in

energy-related areas
