Description

We are searching for an experienced Plant Manager at our Malaysia facility.

Position Summary

Primary Duties and Responsibilities:

The Plant Manager leading all plant operations — including production, engineering, facilities & maintenance, and supply chain — to ensure the safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery of products to global customers.

Primary Responsibilities

Safety

  • Maintaining and improving a safety culture that ensures a hazard-free work environment and employee commitment to safe behavior.
  • Ensuring compliance with OSHA and local regulatory requirements for training, documentation, and reporting.
  • Fulfilling all local and state environmental regulations and requirements.

Quality

  • Delivering Six Sigma quality levels to internal and external customers while complying with GMP and ISO 13485.
  • Collaborating with the technical team on validation efforts.
  • Leveraging company standards for work instructions, document management, and training.
  • Identifying, containing, eliminating, and preventing recurrence of quality issues.
  • Responding to customer complaints using the CAPA procedure by containing, investigating, resolving, and preventing recurrence.

Delivery

  • Meeting or exceeding lead time and On-Time-In-Full (OTIF) targets.
  • Coordinating with planning, scheduling, and purchasing for efficient production scheduling.
  • Balancing inventory reduction, customer satisfaction, and operational productivity.

Productivity

  • Coordinating the installation of plant upgrades and new equipment with suppliers and subcontractors.
  • Driving Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) to best-in-class levels through process control, training, error-proofing, and scheduling.
  • Collaborating cross-functionally to maintain accurate Engineering Masters and Quality Documentation.

Leadership & Team Development

  • Fostering a culture of open communication, data-driven decision-making, team success, and over-delivery.
  • Communicating goals and progress using KPIs while preparing the workforce for change.
  • Developing team members’ technical and professional skills for sustained operational performance.
  • Ensuring consistent application of policies in collaboration with HR.
  • Preparing departmental and capital budgets.
  • Embedding a continuous improvement mindset within the team, including root cause analysis and corrective actions for operational inefficiencies.

Required Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Operations or closely related field.

Experience

  • More than 5 years of manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of leadership experience within a manufacturing environment, with a preference for those who have accumulated over 10 years in progressively responsible roles.
  • Strong background in continuous improvement and operational excellence is essential, supported by practical knowledge of Lean Six Sigma methodologies and a proven history of optimizing manufacturing processes.
  • Experience working in a controlled manufacturing environment (medical preferred) and/ or flexible packaging/ materials highly desirable.

  • Ability to foster a culture of continuous improvement and possess a proactive, results-driven mindset with a strong sense of urgency and attention to detail.
  • Collaboration is key, and the ability to build effective partnerships with colleagues and customers is highly valued.
  • Proficient in Lean Six Sigma tools and techniques, skilled in technical writing, and comfortable using Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
  • Strong planning and organizational abilities are essential, along with the capacity to perform effectively under pressure while maintaining high levels of efficiency and quality.
