Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and strategic Electricity Trade Specialist to oversee the operational performance of our generation assets in Ukraine, manage regulatory and commercial end-user processes, and lead cross-border electricity trading initiatives. The ideal candidate brings deep understanding of Ukraine’s power market, proven experience in power plant operations, and a strong track record in bilateral and cross-border electricity transactions within the ENTSO-E and Eastern European context.
Key Responsibilities:
Power Plant Operations & Market Interface:
- Manage day-ahead and intraday generation forecasts, dispatch planning, and balancing strategies.
- Execute real-time trading and imbalance management to minimize deviation costs.
- Coordinate nominations with TSOs and the market operator.
- Oversee daily and monthly settlements, invoice validation, and cash flow monitoring.
- Lead back-office operations including metering data verification, contract settlement, and reporting.
- Ensure full compliance with market rules, data protocols, and regulatory requirements.
- Manage the commercial and regulatory interface for supplying electricity to industrial end users or under universal service obligations.
- Ensure compliance with NEURC, Ukrenergo, and related frameworks for retail supply, balancing, and metering.
- Execute and optimize physical and financial cross-border power trading with Romania, Moldova, Hungary, Slovakia, and Poland.
- Participate in cross-border capacity auctions (e.g., JAO, UA DAM) and maintain relationships with regional TSOs, power exchanges, and trading counterparties.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in electrical engineering, Energy Economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in energy asset operations, electricity trading, or utility retail supply in Ukraine or CEE region.
- Deep knowledge of Ukrainian electricity market (Market Operator, Ukrenergo, NEURC) and regional trading frameworks.
- Experience with dispatch centers, metering, balancing groups, and cross-border nomination procedures.
- Strong analytical, negotiation, and project coordination skills.
- Fluency in English and Ukrainian
