Position: Driver/ Field Assistant
Contract: 2-year renewable contract Location: Freetown, Sierra Leone
The Driver/ Field Assistant will convey staff and partners to different locations within and outside the station for official activities, drive and maintain official vehicles efficiently as instructed by supervisor.

DUTIES
- Carry out driving duties as instructed by the Supervisor
- Assist Field supervisors with field activities including field plot establishment and data collection
- Drive vehicle within and outside duty station to transport personnel, materials and supplies including out of hours, weekends and or public holidays as required
- Record all vehicle logbooks which includes mileage, maintenance history and fuel consumption
- Report potential mechanical faults on vehicles as soon as they are discovered
- Perform routine vehicle maintenance checks and ensure that all vehicles are fueled when due
- Provide support to Technical Officers during field assignments
- Perform any other job-related task as may be assigned by the Supervisor
Requirements
QUALIFICATION:
National Diploma in any related course with a minimum of two (2) years' experience or O' Level with a minimum of six (6) years' experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment. Possession of valid Driver's license is required.
COMPETENCIES:
The ideal candidate must:
- Have excellent communication skills in English and Creole (writing, reading, and speaking)
- Be able to speak English and Creole fluently, with knowledge of driving across Sierra Leone
- Have good knowledge of defensive driving with excellent awareness of driving rules and regulations
- Have the ability to work under pressure
- Possess a valid driving license and national identification number/card
- Demonstrate initiative, high moral standards, integrity, a positive attitude, and strong team spirit
