Job Description
Galileo is a fast-growing renewable energy IPP, investor and operator, currently in the very dynamic start-up phase. Since our foundation in 2020, we have secured a pipeline of over 16 GW of solar PV, onshore wind, offshore wind and storage projects across 10 markets in Europe.
We are looking for a Project Manager of grid solutions to support the BD team in shaping the grid connection strategy for utility-scale PV and BESS projects in Germany. This person will be based in Düsseldorf (with the possibility of hybrid remote working) and report to the German BD Director.
What You’ll Do
- Identify and assess grid connection options during the early development phase of large-scale PV, battery and co-location projects.
- Coordinate grid connection requests and planning for PV plants, large-scale BESS systems and co-location projects (MV or HV grid connection points, cable routes, substations)
- Help ensure PV and BESS plants are integrated efficiently and reliably into the grid, are cost-effective, and meet grid stability requirements.
- Manage the interface with grid operators (DSOs/TSOs), coordinating external engineering providers and supporting required negotiations.
- Support the technical definition of grid infrastructure for PV, BESS and co-location projects, from initial tenders to contract negotiations and commissioning of relevant scopes.
- Support discussions with grid operators on innovative connection concepts to enable feasible connection scenarios and secure available connection capacity.
- Align grid restrictions with commercial and technical teams to assess impact.
Requirements
What you’ll need:
- Master’s degree or bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Engineering. A focus on renewable energies, grid infrastructure/integration, or electrical engineering will be considered a plus.
- At least 2-3 years of professional experience in grid connection for renewables, ideally involving MV/HV systems and/or substations. Experience in MV/HV construction and power supply grids will be considered a plus.
- Good understanding of grid connection processes in Germany and relevant technical and regulatory frameworks.
- Native or fluent German speaker and with good knowledge of English.
- Driver’s license and willingness to travel across Germany.
- Ability to work independently and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.
Benefits
What we offer:
- Competitive compensation: 70,000 – 90,000 € gross annual total compensation package, composed of fixed gross annual salary (RAL) and annual performance bonus, based on experience, skills and role responsibilities.
- Flexibility: a hybrid remote-working policy designed for autonomy and outcomes — plus a strong Diversity & Inclusion focus to support different needs and life situations.
- Growth: continuous learning & development opportunities and a supportive environment that fosters initiative and ownership.
- Front-row seat to the energy transition: you’ll be at the forefront of Galileo's developments, with the chance to influence decisions and outcomes.
- International environment: you’ll collaborate with colleagues across Europe and thrive in an informal culture that values collaboration, ownership, and innovation.
Our commitment to diversity and inclusion: Galileo is a new and flexible employer, committed to providing equal opportunities, an inclusive work environment, and fairness for all. We encourage everyone who applies to emphasize what their passion, skills and mindset can bring to our company. In return we commit to evaluating your application fairly and objectively.
