The Engineering team is growing into the mature team a serious health-tech platform requires, and every member is driving that growth personally.

We work together closely to manage everything from product design, infrastructure and security.

Take over and re-define our security function.

Coming in to the role you will be responsible for the security function, and take the lead to redefine our security strategy by working closely with the Engineering and Legal teams, as well as Security Consultants where required.

The role will require hands on experience in building the security features that map best practice and relevant standards like ISO 27001 and SOC 2. There is scope for this role to grow into a Security Lead as the team scales in response to business needs.

Role Responsibilities.

Collaborate:

• Work with the Engineering and Legal teams to develop our security strategy against best practice to ensure our platform continues to be a secure and trusted by our users.
• Engage with (existing) security contractors to conduct regular testing and audits to ensure we have the strongest possible security posture possible.

Build:

• Anticipate business needs and influence business strategy early in the decision making process.
• Define and design the features required within our application, and within our infrastructure, to ensure we have desirable observability, security, threat detection, and incident response.
• Take on a core role in product development advising on security implications of feature work.
• Build and maintain our security features in our application and infrastructure environments.
• Map technical security requirements to relevant standards (like ISO 27001 and SOC 2) for the purpose of ensuring and maintaining relevant security accreditations.

Educate:

• Actively educate the engineering team on engineering implementation security practices & strategy.
• Train the broader team on best practices where it is relevant to their business needs.

Grow:

• With platform maturity and growth grow out a dedicated security function.

Role Requirements:

• You have operated as an individual contributor for 5+ years
• You have transferrable knowledge & skills to match our needs
• Cloud Env: AWS
• Languages: typescript, terraform
• Compliance: ISO27001 & SOC2
• You have strong verbal and written communication skills
• You are proactive and forward thinking
