Are you our new QC Engineer responsible for inspecting, analyzing, and resolving identified quality deviations within contractual agreements? And be in a key position assist the production team to increase production performance by reducing the number of defects, by performing root cause analysis and initiating data driven improvement activities.

What does a QC engineer do?

The QC Engineer is responsible for inspecting, analyzing, and resolving identified quality deviations within contractual agreements. You create and review test reports for as-built purposes and determine the measurement and testing procedures needed to verify quality. You act as an escalation point for the QC Inspector and provide advisory support for quality improvements. You participate in meetings to prepare and evaluate projects and have frequent communication with the QA/QC department, Coating Inspectors, Operations, Coating, and Project Management.

Your responsibilities

  • You assess contractual agreements for measurement requirements.
  • You determine the measurement and testing procedures while optimizing the use of measurement techniques and communicate this to the QA Engineer.
  • You provide instructions to QC Inspectors for complex measurements and ensure the correct application and execution of measurement and testing procedures.
  • You are the point of contact for customers, subcontractors, QC Inspectors, and production regarding issues and uncertainties related to quality procedures, measurements, and tests.
  • You create template measurement control reports for QC Inspectors based on project procedures, drawings, and contract requirements. You review test reports (NDT reports, measurement reports, coating reports, repair reports) for as-built documentation.
  • You ensure that NDT reports are generated by an external party in ERP (AX) and act as a knowledge resource for its functioning.
  • You analyze deviations and propose structural solutions to prevent deviations to Production and QA.
  • You manage reported deviations and assess them for measurements, dimensions, and damages.
  • You analyze deviation reports and discuss identified issues with internal stakeholders.
  • You initiate actions to resolve these deviations within the specified contractual agreements. If the solution cannot be executed within the contractual agreements, you create a Non-Conformance Report (NCR).
  • You have weekly meetings with other departments and customers, providing evidence, information, and status updates.
  • You provide advice on possible solutions and alternatives to the Project Manager.
  • You inform customer representatives about quality aspects and acceptance criteria, conduct reviews with customers, and ensure the resolution of any resulting complex action points for the partial reports' release.
  • You report and escalate issues with customers to the QC Manager.
  • Additionally, you support and assist QC Inspectors with reporting, acceptance procedures, and deviations.

At the Maasvlakte 2 site of Sif Group, you will work for a market leader in offshore foundations, where large scale flow production, smart logistics and standardized processes ensure maximum efficiency and control. You will join the QC department, which is responsible for ensuring and improving the quality of services and processes at our Maasvlakte 2 (MV2) location. The department plays an advisory role during tender phases regarding quality requirements and explores possible alternatives that align with the specified requirements and company policy and strategy. The department is also responsible for implementing and maintaining processes, systems, procedures, and instructions to meet project quality requirements. Coating is performed by an in-house supplier. Control is conducted through various measurements, such as flange measurements, attachment location, lengths, diameters, and circumferences, using tools such as Easy Laser, total station, and photogrammetry.

You are curious, analytical, proactive, independent, able to give and receive feedback, and have good communication skills.

What you bring;

  • Knowledge of reading photometric measurements in software such as V-star or Polyworks Knowledge of AutoCAD or Solidworks
  • Minimum of an Bachelor Degree degree in a technical field
  • Proficiency in Dutch and English, German is a plus.
  • Already located in the Netherlands
  • >5years op QC engineer experience
  • Welding experience
