Location: Shenzhen, China (with flexibility to travel locally and globally as needed)

Position Overview:

  • TCL Design Innovation Center is seeking a Design Strategist to serve as the BU-PIT interface (Business Unit – Product Innovation Team) for the TCL Intelligent Automotive Solutions (IAS) Business Unit.
  • This role combines Experience Strategy, CMF Sensibility, and Ecosystem Integration to help define how TCL’s displays, AI Agents, IoT devices, and smart home products come together within Next-Gen Smart Cabin environments.
  • The strategist will work closely with ID, CMF, and UX designers, as well as product and marketing teams, and external suppliers to shape cohesive experience design directions and concept showcases for our automotive customers.

Key Responsibilities:

1.Product & Experience Strategy Alignment:

  • Translate BU requirements into clear experience strategies and directional frameworks.
  • Identify innovation opportunities by monitoring industry trends, OEMs, and AI/HMI trends.
  • Align R&D, Product Planning, Marketing, and Design teams around a unified experience direction.
  • Provide structured creative briefs, strategic guidance, and evaluative feedback to internal and external partners.
  • Review renderings, mockups, and CMF proposals to ensure alignment with TCL's design language and cabin vision.
  • Communicate experience intent, visual direction, and integration principles during supplier interactions.
  • Partner with marketing and product teams to maintain a unified TCL design tonality in all outward-facing materials.

2.Smart Cabin Integration:

  • Support the definition of experience flows, highlight moments, and scenario concepts for cabin interactions.
  • Ensure TCL ecosystem products and displays are integrated with strong color, material, and contextual harmony within the interior.
  • Bridging UX understanding + CMF logic to guide how visual and physical elements support a coherent cockpit experience.
  • Collaborate with UX designers and supply chain partners to align on experience principles and design intentions.

3.Concept Innovation & Collaboration:

  • Co-create concept cabin prototypes and innovation showcases with DIC X-Labs.
  • Shape concept narratives, vision stories, and aesthetic direction for CES/IFA/Auto Shows and internal vision projects.
  • Convert insights into concept briefs, experience maps, and high-level integration guidelines for stakeholder alignment.

Candidate Profile:

We are looking for a strategic designer with a genuine passion for the future of mobility, having:

  • 5-8 years in Design Strategy, Experience Design, CMF/Industrial Design, or Automotive/Tech ecosystem design.
  • Strong ability to connect UX understanding + physical integration into holistic cabin experiences.
  • Experience with automotive interiors, display integration, or multi-device ecosystems is a plus.
  • Excellent storytelling, visual articulation, and cross-functional communication.
  • Ability to guide vendors with clear vision, principles, and evaluative criteria.
  • Fluent in Mandarin + English; based in Shenzhen with global collaboration capability.
