At the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA), safeguarding and advancing the interests of Singapore and Singaporeans through effective diplomacy is at the heart of what we do. Foreign Service Officers are on the frontline of global developments, and respond swiftly to events happening around the world to safeguard and advance Singapore's interests. This includes analysing geopolitical developments, organising high-level visits and meetings, sharing Singapore's technical expertise with developing countries, as well as assisting overseas Singaporeans in distress.
Responsibilities
As a Foreign Service Officer (Functional & Corporate), you will formulate, review and implement policies that impact MFA's vital operations. You will be rotated to manage core functions in the following:
A career in the Foreign Service alternates between Singapore and one of our over 50 Overseas Missions around the world. Overseas, you will serve as an Administrative Secretary to manage a team to ensure the smooth functioning of an Overseas Mission. Your responsibilities will range from consular duties, human resource management, finance, procurement, facility development and maintenance, to office administration.
You will also be equipped with essential knowledge, skills and diplomatic tradecraft through structured programmes, courses and on-the-job training.
