CEO & Co-Founder

NeuroLight, Inc.

United States

Description

NeuroLight is building a noninvasive neuromodulation platform that uses EEG-guided sensory brain stimulation (light/sound) to facilitate brain-state transitions, starting with sleep. We are targeting insomnia as the commercial beachhead, with a strategic pathway into regulated indications including Alzheimer’s, neurodegenerative disease, PTSD, and Parkinson’s-related sleep pathology. We are backed by an NSF Phase I SBIR award, have an extensive patent portfolio, and have a prototype ready for proof-of-concept studies. Two grant applications filed last year are currently pending at DoD.

Compensation

This is an equity-first co-founder role at the current stage. There is no cash salary until financing. We can optionally structure deferred compensation (accrued and payable from seed proceeds). A market-rate CEO salary begins upon closing a seed round or major non-dilutive funding.

Responsibilities

  • Lead seed fundraising (immediate priority): build and run a disciplined capital-raise process with strategics, select VCs, family offices, and angels; support non-dilutive funding strategy as applicable
  • Set company strategy and near-term focus: sharpen the insomnia commercialization plan while maintaining a credible clinical/regulatory roadmap
  • Drive go-to-market: refine positioning, pricing hypotheses, channel strategy, and partnership strategy (manufacturing, sleep clinics/KOLs, distribution)
  • Build the company: recruit key hires and advisors; implement operating cadence, KPIs, and investor-grade reporting
  • Own business leadership: budgets, vendor/partner negotiations, board and investor communications, and execution accountability across functions

Qualifications

  • Track record leading early-stage fundraising (seed/early) and investor-facing execution; ability to create and manage an investor pipeline and close financing
  • Experience building and commercializing products in neurotech, MedTech, digital health, or adjacent hardware + subscription/consumer health businesses
  • Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills; comfortable operating hands-on in ambiguity before scaling a team
  • Graduate degree or equivalent experience; MBA is a plus but not required
  • Experience with regulated pathways (e.g., QMS/510(k)) is a plus, not a requirement
  • Remote work capability (U.S.) and willingness to travel as needed

How to apply

Please include:

  • a short note on the most relevant company you built/financed and your role in fundraising
  • your most relevant raise (amount, instrument, and your role)
  • your approach to raising seed for a hybrid consumer + clinical roadmap, and
  • resume/CV.
