What The Role Is
The Senior/Data Analyst will play a pivotal role in MTI's Data & AI Office, supporting the development of AI tools to drive evidence-based policy formulation, decision making and uplift organisational digital capabilities and productivity. This position combines advanced data analytics with full-stack AI development, focusing on building intelligent solutions that transform how MTI operates and serves stakeholders. The role involves end-to-end product development from conceptualisation to deployment, with significant involvement in the National Economic Research & Visualisation Engine (NERVE) sectoral data hub for economic domain.
What You Will Be Working On
- AI Product Development and Management
- Support end-to-end development and enhancement of AI tools and develop workflows and pipelines that integrate AI into MTI’s digital ecosystem.
- Prototype innovative data products using new technologies / techniques / modelling including Generative Artificial Intelligence on cloud platforms.
- Support the design, training, and evaluation of machine learning and generative AI models for MTI-specific use cases.
- Data Engineering and Architecture
- Work closely with Data Engineers to develop and maintain the NERVE sectoral data hub and optimise data pipelines for analytical and AI requirements.
- Acquire new data and transform structured and unstructured datasets for model training, testing, and analytical purposes.
- Monitor, maintain, and improve data quality across all data products and systems.
- Testing and User Adoption
- Coordinate and manage agile product testing efforts with end users.
- Support pilot testing and iteration processes to improve application usability and performance.
- Build dashboards and reports to evaluate AI model outputs.
- Research and Innovation
- Scan and experiment with emerging AI tools, libraries, and techniques, assessing their applicability to MTI's context.
- Experiment with natural language processing, retrieval systems, and prediction algorithms for government use cases.
- Document methodologies, experiments, and lessons learnt to strengthen the organisational AI knowledge base.
What We Are Looking For
- Tertiary education in Data Science, Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, or related disciplines.
- At least 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in data analytics, AI full-stack development, or related fields.
- Demonstrated experience in developing and deploying AI applications or data products.
- Proficiency in data science tools and programming languages including Python, SQL, and R.
- Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, including deployment and scaling of AI models.
- Proficiency with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau and AWS QuickSight.
- Deep understanding of machine learning concepts, generative AI, and Large Language Models.
- Experience with data engineering practices and data warehouse management.
- Strong problem-solving mindset with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills, comfortable working with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
