IT Systems Manager Assistant

Your Purpose

As an IT Systems Manager Assistant, your primary purpose is to ensure the smooth and seamless operation of all onboard IT systems, networks, and associated computer/peripheral systems. You will support the IT Systems Manager in troubleshooting, maintaining, and upgrading systems, while being a proactive part of the team to resolve any technical issues that arise. By ensuring that all technology is functioning optimally, you will help our crew and guests have a seamless and enjoyable experience on board. This position is critical to maintaining the high standards of service and operational efficiency expected on our vessels.

Your Journey So Far

• Relevant Experience: You have practical experience in managing IT systems, either from previous roles onboard cruise ships or from working in a similar high-demand environment. If you've worked on a cruise ship, you understand the specific challenges of ensuring technology runs smoothly at sea, where reliability is critical.
• Academic Background: You hold a degree in Computer Science or a related field, or possess equivalent work experience in IT. Your academic background has equipped you with the foundational knowledge to troubleshoot and maintain complex systems in a dynamic setting.
• Adaptability & Problem-Solving: You thrive in environments that demand quick thinking and problem-solving. You’ve developed the ability to address technical issues efficiently, often under pressure, and have experience working with diverse systems and software.
• A Passion for Technology: You have a deep interest in technology and how it can improve operations and enhance the guest experience. Your enthusiasm for IT systems drives you to provide consistent and effective support to ensure that all systems function smoothly.

Your Essentials

To be considered for the IT Systems Manager Assistant position, you will need to meet the following criteria:

• Degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent work experience in IT.
• Previous onboard experience in a similar role or within the cruise industry is preferred.
• Proficient in English (written and spoken).
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills, with a keen eye for detail.
• Ability to work independently, as well as part of a dynamic team.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to liaise with different departments and external vendors.
