Role Description This full-time, on-site Senior Land Acquisition Manager role is based in Ludington, MI. The Senior Land Acquisition Manager will identify, evaluate, and secure land rights for renewable energy projects, including negotiating lease and purchase agreements with landowners and other stakeholders. This role will manage relationships with property owners, local communities, and authorities, coordinating with internal teams such as development, legal, engineering, and permitting to ensure land agreements support project timelines and requirements. The position involves reviewing title reports and surveys, overseeing due diligence activities, and addressing land-related constraints or risks. The Senior Land Acquisition Manager will also contribute to site selection, support permitting processes, maintain accurate records of land agreements, and provide regular reporting on acquisition progress and milestones.

Qualifications

  • Demonstrated experience in land acquisition, real estate development, or site control for energy or infrastructure projects, ideally within the renewable energy sector.
  • Strong negotiation, stakeholder management, and relationship-building abilities, with experience working directly with landowners, communities, and local authorities.
  • Solid understanding of property law fundamentals, title and survey review, and land-use or zoning considerations relevant to energy project development.
  • Proficiency in project coordination, including managing multiple land transactions, tracking deadlines, and collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain complex agreements in clear, accessible language.
  • High level of analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with a structured and detail-oriented working style.
  • Comfort with fieldwork and travel within the region to meet landowners, attend local meetings, and assess potential project sites.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, real estate, law, environmental studies, engineering, or a related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications are a plus.
  • Experience working with GIS or mapping tools and standard office software (e.g., MS Office);
