Based on an extensive ICT/ITSM experience I have finally found my passion and profession in networking. Working on projects and being responsible for wired and wireless networks from design phase through build and implementation to operations support has been the highlight of my work experience so far. Beyond the technical domain my enthusiasm for the English language and effective communication has been the cornerstone of my career.
- A newly acquired Renewables business integration into GE’s network infrastructure. After Re-IP phase, dual Viptela SD-WAN solution has been deployed to each site and CheckPoint firewalls have been re-configured to support the new setup. Core, access and WAN breakout switches, WLCs and lightweight APs required standardized configuration so that Ops can support them. - LAN refresh and Re-IP planning for a divested business unit. LAN discovery and Visio documentation of four Hungarian manufacturing site locations. LAN gear inventory, Cisco and Meraki hardware replacement suggestions based on port utilization and port functionality to meet IT and OT requirements of the business. Assembly of multiple CheckPoint firewall and Cisco/Meraki LAN/WLAN BOM to support financial decision making process.
- In December, 2017 Unisys had struck a deal with the most influential bank in Europe to manage their increasingly standardized IT Operations and support their DC infrastructure. I have had the opportunity to get a glimpse into their FlexPod implementation (Cisco UCS with Fabric Interconnects, Nexus 7K switches, NetApp storage, VMware hypervisor) and understand the fundamentals of Cisco data center technologies like FCoE and vPC. - I have been at Unisys during the transition and transformation phases of the project which meant monthly knowledge transfer visits to the bank’s premises for documentation purposes. Daily network operations tasks included change implementation and troubleshooting on Cisco Nexus switches, CheckPoint firewalls, Cisco WLCs, Cisco Prime and Cisco ISE along with the support of DNS and IPAM related requests within Infoblox in a multi-DMZ environment. - I have been tasked with facilitating Re-IP related activities at Votorantim Cimentos in coordination with server migration experts and architects from Colombia, Brazil and Spain in order to make O365 migration possible within the organization.
Member of a 25-strong acquisition team comprising project managers and network build engineers tasked with driving the network integration of approximately 30.000 ex-Alstom employees based at 400 European site locations into GE's network architecture. - Remote site discovery. - Re-design of LAN, WLAN and WAN infrastructure of the site in MS Visio. - Compile Bill of Material. - Order new hardware from system integrator and new circuit from ISP. - Drive and execute Re-IP (re-numbering) related activities. - Travel to priority sites in EMEA region 8-12 times a year. - Install new hardware. - Deploy wired and wireless solutions that meet GE standards. - Configure Cisco routers, switches and WLCs. - Provide operations support for all migrated sites after Re-IP up until handover to GE Operations.
UGSH Command Center performs Event Management and IT Operations Control activities organized in a 24/7/365 shifting pattern. We carried out L1 network management tasks, server patching and monitoring of 5200 Cisco nodes along with a Windows 2003/2008 server infrastructure and Avamar storage/backup solution on a scale of 1300 devices.
