Engaged by VP for Innovation to assist in evaluating the strategy for expanding use of the company’s data platform, which was still under development. The investigation was split into two phases: Phase 1: A high level review of the use of digital platforms industries within the energy sector. This was achieved by engaging with multiple stakeholders including users, in-house developers, third party partners as well as other practitioners within the data science and analytics sector. Phase 2: Investigate how the themes and trends identified can be applied to Equinor’s platform. A new framework was proposed in-line with best industry practice for the development of a platform ecosystem. This was presented in a detailed consultancy report. Recommendations were made through presentations to business groups at VP level and below while a summary report was issued to the CIO.
