I graduated in Biomedical Science from University of Central Lancashire and have a research background in Clinical Biochemistry, Clinical Microbiology, Biology of Disease, Haematology, Immunology and Cell Sciences. I have gained many skills throughout my IBMS accredited course both in research, and in a laboratory environment including laboratory skills such as; collecting data and data analysis, as well as interpersonal skills including; team work, listening well, networking and organisational skills. I currently hold the position of Biomedical Scientist in Biochemistry at Airedale General Hospital, where I test samples using Beckman Power Express Track system, AU 5800, DXI 800, Menarini, Bioflash and Vidas analysers.
Work in all areas of the chemistry department processing clinical specimens for biological testing, which include chemistry, immunology and serology/virology. Duties include answering telephone queries, locating samples, maintaining outstanding work lists, loading samples on analysers. The department uses Beckmann AU5800, DXI Immunoassay, Vidas 3, Werfen Bioflash, Sebia Capillays and Sebia Hydrasys technology.
