Southampton, England, United Kingdom
I recently graduated from the University of Southampton where I gained a BA in French and Spanish. I have a passion for communicating, especially in the foreign languages in which I have become proficient.
In my role as an English language teacher I am responsible for creating lessons, marking homework, managing classes and preparing students for official Cambridge English exams.
I learned how to be more creative during my role at Edgbarrow School because I did individual speaking sessions in French and Spanish with the A-level students. This involved preparing sessions and finding interesting articles and topics to talk about with them. I also prepared my own questions based on the topics. During my time at Edgbarrow I observed and helped teach lessons which helped me gain language teaching skills. I learned how to lesson plan and adapt the plans to students needs because for the individual sessions, each student wanted to study something different so I had to adapt the sessions to each student. This job helped me develop my organisational skills because I created a planner and kept track of each individual session and what we had spoken about and what we still had to go over.
