The Reserve Management Department is responsible for the management of Singapore’s official foreign reserves. It seeks to achieve good investment returns within prudent risk parameters Investment Research and Portfolio Management • Managed fixed income assets with a focus on US and China rates • Focused on macroeconomic analysis and macro trading strategies • Produced strategy reports for MAS quarterly investment outlook overseen by the MAS Investment Committee • Undertook operational responsibilities for respective portfolios • Handled counterparty relationships
The Financial Markets Development Department aims to promote a vibrant financial market and works with MAS stakeholders and industry participants to improve the market infrastructure through strategy and technology. Ecosystem Strategy and Execution • Formulated ecosystem wide development strategies in efx, commodities and equities markets to grow Singapore's capital market competitiveness vis a vis regional financial centres • Advanced and executed projects alongside a myriad of industry participants spanning C-suite, regional heads and working level representation (e.g. the crowding in of eFX-trading infrastructure by key banks and non bank FIs in Singapore) • Co-shaped regulations with counterparts in regulatory teams to ensure industry business continuity (e.g. SFA, cross border regulatory frameworks) • Led presentations at key industry briefings/roundtables attended by C-suite executives and ministers • Coordinated efforts across government agencies and industry stakeholders
• Assumed full responsibilities as a pricing analyst; • Determined daily commodity settlement price through assessing industry inputs for nine petrochemical products across three markets; and • Produced associated weekly summaries
• Forecasted market share and outlook for an MNC through groundwork; • Interviews, research and forecasting which were incorporated into client’s work plan and term strategy
