• Design mechanical (Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning) and plumbing plans in compliance with the NYC Building Code, NYC Energy Conservation Code, engineering knowledge and skills. • Arrange and perform site surveys, coordinating with architect, expediter, and contractors for plan preparation. • Evaluate and analyze the site condition of the building to propose optimum design during plan preparation
Self-Supported paper-based multi-anode Microbial Fuel Cell as the real time “shock” biosensor for wastewater Advisor: Baikun Li • Fabricated and set up a PMMFC with plastic tank, electric wire, filter paper and other components independently. • Infused the tank with wastewater of a local treatment plant, produce biofilm in it, than ran this MFC in lab and record relevant experimental data, such as voltage output and power output. • Analyzed recorded experimental data, and PMMFC was proved as an effective shock sensor for real time in situ monitoring of wastewater quality. Soil Moisture Sensor for Real Time in situ Profiling Soil Moisture Advisor: Baikun Li • Collected and summarized 50+ research papers. Cooperated with team member to develop a sensor by using a new material, which has greatly decreased the cost from $20 to $1 per chip. • Independently developed a sensor production and performance report, and gained significant independent research and writing experience.
• Participated on project teams in the planning and design of municipal wastewater system use AutoCAD. • Collected soil and water sampling from field and performed Phase I/II environmental site assessment, wrote regulatory and summary reports for senior review. • Prepared industrial wastewater discharge permit applications to ensure compliance with local and national environmental standards. • Participated in work activities and communicated with various municipality, utility and governmental regulating agencies, prepared written deliverable and visual presentation to governors and received positive reviews.
