- Working with client countries to provide advisory services for IBRD and IFC project operations on investment policy and promotion related topics. Country projects and programs engagements have included Albania, Armenia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia (region of Slavonia), Egypt, Kenya, Kosovo, Nigeria, North Macedonia, Montenegro, Morocco, Serbia, Uzbekistan, Zambia and countries within the Organisation of African, Caribbean and Pacific States (ACP) as part of the ACP Business Friendly Program. - Supporting the investment promotion and outreach activities of multiple investment promotion institutions through assistance with investor targeting, value proposition development, and capacity building training sessions. - Identifying barriers to and policy recommendations for investment promotion and attraction, entry and establishment, protection and retention, and linkages with the local economy to contribute to an overarching objective of creating jobs and promoting sustainable and equitable economic growth in client economies.
Providing technical support for various NGOs and institutions on a variety of international development related projects, including: - Trade policy analysis for a year long project monitoring the availability of staple crops in West Africa (2018); - Research and report development for a multi-year health policy intervention in Cote d'Ivoire (2017); - Research, drafting and editing for a book on Africa development (2017).
Working with the Africa Growth Initiative on a variety of research projects and events, including issues related to US/EU-Africa trade as well as transparency, a report on resource revenue management for oil and gas in East Africa, a research project on taxation, and two annual Foresight Africa reports.
Placed by the African Development Bank to advise and provide technical support to the African Union Mission to the USA and the African Ambassador Group (composed of Ambassadors from all Washington, DC-based African Embassies) on U.S.-Africa trade and investment related policy and strategy.
Worked on a trade finance project designed to evaluate and better understand the African trade finance landscape as the AfDB carries out its Trade Finance Program. The project helps to ensure that the implementation of the trade finance program is aligned with the needs of African financial institutions. Also worked with the AfDB’s Additionality and Development Outcomes Assessment team, which does ex-ante evaluations of the development impact of private sector AfDB projects.
Endsight provides support to U.S. clients entering frontier markets -- particularly Africa, and works with foreign governments seeking participation in U.S. assistance programs. In this role I conducted research and analysis on topics related to client needs and provided consulting services related to market entry, business development, and international policy.
