Supervise operations for Performance Program concerts and events including ensemble performances, private recitals, and department lectures. Assist with setting up the hall, post-concert receptions, program distribution, and concert announcements.
Assist the conductor and music director with concert preparation by actively listening to rehearsals and documenting recommended notes to ensure optimal ensemble balance.
Conducted over 140 hours of hands-on research in the Rice Lab, focusing on characterizing the function of the enzyme DUF1643 found in the Staphylococcus aureus pathogenicity island (SaPI) as a uracil-DNA glycosylase. Research also sought to quantify the biochemical impact of Sin, an S. aureus protein, on the replication of the SaPI. While in this position, I advanced my laboratory skills in bacterial cell culture and electrophoresis assay.
Founded wind nonet comprised of UChicago undergraduate and graduate instrumentalists. Serve as conductor dedicated to the study of Harmoniemusik and works for similar forces. Repertoire includes compositions by Beethoven, Donizetti, Gounod, Mozart, and Wagner.
Designed and assembled a reverberation time calculator and database of material absorption coefficients. Prepared and reviewed markups of architectural drawings, data sets and other digital design assets. Analyzed data and worked collaboratively to help solve complex technical challenges and problems in room acoustics, sound isolation, and noise control; presented solutions in reports and narratives.
