As President and CEO of Elemco Building Controls, Inc., from 1988 to 2019 and now President of Elemco Xencom NY, LLC, Zach has been involved in corporate direction, product development, sales, energy management, software, and education initiatives. He has also worked with the New York State Energy Research & Development Authority (NYSERDA) on software development projects and evaluation of energy conservation proposals for their Program Opportunity Notices. Over the years Zach has worked on turnkey energy conservation measures in industrial, commercial, institutional, and multi-family residential applications. In a separate role as an educator Zach trained commercial building operating engineers on Energy Conservation, Building Automation Systems and Green Building Technology and was involved in developing new curricula for the Local 94 IUOE Training Center to prepare its members for the next generation of Green Collar Jobs in New York City. Specialties: Zach is and has been an owner and CEO of a small business in the Energy Conservation/Building Automation System industry for over 35 years. He has strong business acumen complemented by a solid technical background. Besides management and corporate development duties, his areas of expertise include “systems integrator,” software developer, building automation and control system designer, and trainer of Stationary Engineers.
Elemco Xencom NY, LLC provides turnkey implementation of sophisticated Building Management Systems. Automation solutions include energy management, sub metering, critical systems monitoring, measurement and verification, Demand Response control and many custom applications. All system projects are joint efforts between qualified software technicians and machinery control experts well versed on all types of industrial and commercial equipment. EXNY specializes in the implementation of interoperable automation systems using Open Systems Architecture and Standard Communication Protocols to integrate products and systems from various manufacturers. For over 35 years the company has also designed, installed, commissioned and operated sub metering systems in both the residential and commercial sectors. In addition, EXNY provides sub meter reading, billing and collecting services on a monthly basis to many of our sub metering customers. EXNY has also developed and implemented Measurement & Verification protocols and systems for performance contracts and Demand Side Management programs.
