Provided research and administrative support for the Executive Leadership Team
Recruited and managed a network of 90 active volunteers in southern and central DeKalb County to complete canvassing shifts for Democrats up and down the ballot during the general and runoff elections. Responsibilities included: organizing and leading canvassing events; training volunteers; making 150 daily volunteer recruitment calls; partnering with local elected officials and county party leaders; speaking at community events; running weekly meet-and-greets; and developing trainings and messaging materials for my region.
Conducted interviews with well-known experts and scholars on politics, policy, and law in addition to managing a subgroup of five Interviews Associates and supporting the Interviews Director in running training sessions and weekly meetings. Past interviews include David Cole, National Legal Director of the ACLU, Professor James Forman Jr., Yale Law School, Schuyler Bailar, LGBTQ rights advocate and the first transgender NCAA Division I athlete, and more. Provided research, memos, and administrative support for the Voting Rights, All Voting is Local, Media & Technology, and Development teams. Prepared written materials including short advocacy letters to six Republican senators, a 1,200-word Leadership Conference blog post highlighting key state-level voting rights legislation in the wake of the 2020 election, voting rights social media posts, detailed grant reports, donor profiles, and more.
