I have several years of experience in a very busy urgent pharmacy providing a range of services to the Whangārei community. In my current practice, I apply the knowledge and skills I have gained throughout my tertiary educations, accreditation trainings and current postgraduate study to provide patient-centred, clinically focussed and culturally competent services to my patients. My usual responsibilites centres around the safe, clinically appropriate, legal and cost-effective provision of medications. I counsel patients on their prescription medicines, assist patients who require treatment/advice for minor ailments and assist doctors, nurses, dentists and other healthcare professionals in making sound decisions regarding medicines. In addition to the above, I can provide the following services: • Medicines Use Review (MUR) • Vaccinations – including COVID-19 vaccine • Trimethoprim • Sildenafil • Emergency Contraceptive Pill • Gout Stop • Rheumatic Fever Prevention: Pharmacist Rapid Response • Hepatitis C Test and Treat I can also dispense and counsel the clients of: • Clozapine • Opioid Substitution Treatment (OST) • Oral chemotherapy • Thalidomide/lenalidomide • Maviret I love what I do because it allows me to be an integral part of the healthcare process of so many patients on a day-to-day basis. When I'm not working, I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling (especially roadtrips), experiencing new cultures, trying different foods and watching documentaries and movies. I am an MCU fan, my favorite movies are the Lord of the Rings trilogy and I also love reading, especially sci-fi/fantasy books. My current favorite book series is the Stormlight Archives.
