As a Principal PM Manager at Microsoft, I lead a high-impact team of Product Managers driving innovation and strategy for Microsoft Defender for Cloud, empowering organizations around the world to strengthen their cloud security posture. I also host the Defender for Cloud in the Field series (aka.ms/MDCInTheField), where I share the latest updates, insights, and real-world guidance on modern cloud security. Beyond my core role, I am deeply committed to advancing diversity and inclusion in cybersecurity. I lead both the Women in Cybersecurity Program Romania and the Global Women in Cybersecurity Program, where I mentor, train, and support women pursuing careers in cybersecurity. I am also the co-host of the Women in Cybersecurity Podcast, a platform amplifying the voices and stories of women thriving in this field. With a career in IT dating back to 1994 and cybersecurity since 2006, my journey at Microsoft has included multiple roles across product management, customer engineering, cloud security, and technical leadership. In parallel, I serve as a Professor at EC-Council University (since 2015), Trine University (since 2023), and the University of Texas at Dallas (since 2025), where I teach and mentor the next generation of cybersecurity professionals. I am the author of 30+ published books, collaborating with publishers such as Microsoft Press, Pearson, Packt Publishing, Syngress, and Morgan James. Academically, I hold an M.S. in Cybersecurity Intelligence & Forensics from Utica University and PhD in Cybersecurity Leadership at Capitol Technology University. My mission is to build secure, resilient cloud environments while empowering people—customers, students, and emerging talent—to succeed and lead in cybersecurity.
