Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Geotechnical Engineering at AUT. Additionally, I hold a master's degree in Geology, which has provided me with a strong foundation in geological formations, site investigations, and geotechnical analysis. My current interest is research on environmental hazards, particularly landslide hazards. My studies typically focus on understanding the causes and triggers of landslides, developing models and methods to predict and mitigate landslide risk, and exploring ways to enhance recovery efforts. This includes studying geomorphological, geotechnical, hydrological, and meteorological factors that contribute to landslides, as well as investigating the impact of human activities on landslide risk. This field of research includes investigating the social and economic impacts of landslides, exploring the role of remote sensing and geospatial technologies in landslide risk assessment, and developing early warning systems for landslides. The overall goal of these research efforts is to improve our ability to prevent, predict, and respond to landslides, and to reduce the negative impact of landslides on communities and the environment.
