About

Yohanna Peter is a young emerging professional exploring opportunities in the development sector. He is a Political Scientist focused on research and teaching about development challenges in the global south, with specific interests in development policies and practices; climate change and conflict; environmental politics, and sustainability. He is also passionate about democracy, human rights, gender equality, governance, and peacebuilding. He writes and researches African politics, governance, and policy trends. Peter is skilled in implementing and monitoring development projects, research, data analysis, and fact-checking. He is currently serving as an Assistant Program Officer at the Centre for Democracy and Development. Additionally, he holds a certificate from The Martin Luther King, Jr. Center for Nonviolent Social Change (The King Center) and is a Research Fellow on Humanitarian Leadership with a Professional Certificate in International Development from Dataville Research LLC. Peter is a member of The Nigerian Institute of Entrepreneurship and an Ambassador for The Nigerian Prize for Leadership (NPL).
