As a Year 4 Pharmacy student at the National University of Singapore (NUS), I am driven by a passion for immersing myself in the healthcare sector through innovation, teamwork, and patient-centered solutions. I have conducted a research focused on Singapore's sustainable healthcare landscape, exploring ways to address challenges and seize opportunities for a greener and net-zero healthcare system. I am also deeply engaged in studying pharmacist-led initiatives, particularly in the prevention of infectious diseases, aiming to improve patient outcomes, reduce healthcare costs, and more importantly to apply my knowledge to help the people around me. Beyond the classroom, I thrive in collaborative and creative environments. As an active member of the NUS Korean Cultural Interest Group Dance Team (KDT), I contribute to dance covers and performances, honing my teamwork and time management skills. My previous leadership experiences in both high school and the NUS Pharmaceutical Society have also cultivated my leadership and critical thinking abilities. As an international student who came to Singapore for tertiary education, I have also learned to adapt quickly to new environments and connect with people from diverse cultures and backgrounds. These experiences have shaped me into a proactive and resilient individual, ready to collaborate with different groups and tackle complex challenges. I picked and packed up to 200 medication prescriptions daily with high accuracy and efficiency. I also managed up to 4 P-sales cases daily while ensuring compliance. Besides, I dispensed, identified potential errors and responded to drug-related enquiries. Additionally, I gained hands-on experience in a retail pharmacy setting. I also attended various workshops to further enhance my clinical knowledge.
I coordinated 7 AMI events over 11 weeks, engaging up to 50 aesthetic doctors to enhance aesthetic injection techniques. I also prepared training and communication materials for up to 30 and 80 aesthetic doctors respectively, and are still widely distributed and actively used. Additionally, I familiarized myself with relevant acts, regulations, and SOPs, ensuring compliance in my work. I also explored the roles and responsibilities of a Responsible Person, and how pharmacists can contribute to the pharmaceutical industry.
As the programmes head, I guided a group of 3 in handling matters regarding to programme planning, proposal drafting, activity booth and presentation slides design. Me, leading the programmes group, also collaborated with the publicity group to execute 4 events over the year such as a virtual sharing (Looking Beyond A Diagnosis: Managing Patient's Mental Health' 2024), a language learning programme (Learning Other Languages), a healthcare education fair (Inter-Healthcare Education Fair) and a volunteering event (PAYM Loves Red: Fit Fun Fruits). For instance, I hosted both online and in-person Learning Other Languages (LOL) sessions with 60 participants each. The Inter-Professional Education Committee, including me, also collaborated with NUS Dentistry Club and SIT Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy SMC in organizing the Inter-Healthcare Education Fair with around 100 participants.
I led a committee of 27 to organize a concert with 400 audience, generating a profit of RM8,000. As the representative of the the society's concert, I discussed and eventually collaborated with 2 other societies (Debate and Oratorical Society, and Foon Yew Symphony Orchestra) to assist in hosting the concert and performing duets respectively. During the COVID-19 period, me and the committee also organized an online concert via Instagram, achieving a total of 3,363 views.
I led a team of 17 to plan for society's operations and activities during the circuit breaker period. I also prepared and delivered a talk and a duet performance for an audience of 500, all within one month while preparing for exams When I was a president, I fostered a culture of inclusivity and equality among the 53 members with varying levels of piano skills, and maintained the society's reputation by reforming unhealthy customs within 5 months through effective communication and discussions with school authorities.
I reviewed and prepared quotations for up to 10 design plans daily, and managed a customer database to efficiently oversee records for over 500 clients. I also collaborated with IKEA departments to identify and resolve potential errors in the design plans.
