Driving process development, yield optimization, and automation at Tesla’s gigafactory(Fuhrmann Blvd, Buffalo, NY), supporting the ramp of next-generation photovoltaic and energy storage products. Responsibilities: • Own end-to-end process control for assigned manufacturing modules, including SPC implementation, Cpk monitoring, and closed-loop corrective action workflows • Develop Python-based data pipelines integrating MES telemetry with real-time process diagnostics to accelerate RCA and reduce mean time to root cause • Author and maintain PLC/HMI logic for automated process sequences on ATW stringer and ancillary equipment platforms (CHS/CHD150) • Lead FMEA and PFMEA sessions across cross-functional teams (quality, equipment, supply chain) to proactively surface and close process risks ahead of production ramp • Apply Lean/Six Sigma methodologies (DMAIC) to drive OEE improvement and fallout reduction across high-mix production lines • Interface with MES integration layer for real-time production monitoring, traceability, and adaptive process response
- Rework Reform projects contributed annual cost recovery of $3.2M from saved scrap cost. - Optimized frontend WIP tracking logic and MO completion before DL rate raised from 98% to 100% in 2 weeks.
- Collaborated with software and automation teams to integrate rework tracking system into existing MES infrastructure. - Developed and maintained SOPs, work instructions and troubleshooting guides for key processes. - Delivered on-the-floor feedback and technique correction to over 80 operators, resulting in a 3x improvement in rework success rate (24% to 85% on average).
