Classification model with NLP to learn about Andrew Yang supporters on Reddit - Scraped 3.5 million comments posted by Yang and non-Yang supporters from over 18,000 subreddits - Transformed data in preparation for modeling using feature engineering and natural language processing - Identified topics that were strongly associated with Yang supporters using a logistic regression classifier - Achieved a recall score of .6944 by using SMOTE to address the class imbalance in the dataset - Utilized Latent Dirichlet Allocation to identify the political topics that Yang supporters were discussing Real-time road closure mapping - Worked in a group project to obtain and plot real-time road closure information to assist first responders in a hypothetical natural disaster scenario - Obtained real-time road closure information through integration with the Twitter API (via the Tweepy library) and the Here.com API - Called on Google’s Gmaps API to plot these road closures onto an interactive Google map - Built a Flask app to collect a user-specified location and translate it to geo-coordinates which were used to center our road closure searches and output map Regression model to predict home sale prices in Ames, IA - Explored a Kaggle dataset of home sales from 2006 to 2010 provided by the Ames’s Assessor’s office - Used feature engineering and exploratory data analysis to combine and eliminate columns in the dataset - Evaluated a number of models using linear regression and LASSO or Ridge regularization - Developed a model that was able to predict housing prices with an R^2 score of .902
